Scott Wilson, who became a fan-favorite member of the cast of The Walking Dead, has died.
Scott Wilson, who appeared for three seasons, played Hershel Greene, a farm owner who takes in the survivors of a zombie apocalypse.
TMZ reports that Wilson died from complications of leukemia. He was 76.
The news comes just hours after producers of the show announced that he would make a return appearance in season nine of The Walking Dead.
After he left The Walking Dead after season four, Wilson continued to act, appearing in Hostiles, The OA, Damien, and Bosch. The actor has a prolific career, appearing in Truman Capote’s In Cold Blood, as well as In the Heat of the Night, The Ninth Configuration, and Pearl Harbor.
