Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) initially voted “no” to Kavanaugh, but as a courtesy to a Republican Sen, Steve Daines, who was unable to attend the vote due to his daughter’s wedding, she withdrew her vote to keep the vote margin the same as if he had been there.

Capitol police cleared protesters from the building, so those holding protests largely moved to the Supreme Court steps to voice their opinions.
